Mirror Recommendation
I have a Shimano Ultegra shifter lever on my road bike and need a good mirror. I really like Mirrycle that attaches to the shifter lever. I have only been able to find a mirror that attaches to the end of the drop handlebar and it keeps getting bumped and needs readjustment. Does anyone know of a good mirror that attaches to the brake hood of a Shimano Ultegra shifter lever? Thanks!

Is anyone aware of a type of mirror that attaches directly to the handlebar next to the shifter/brake hood?

This doesn't answer your question but I'm not crazy about bike mounted mirrors. They vibrate too much and don't always show what you need to see. I much prefer eyeglass or helmet mounted mirrors because they let you focus the mirror view by moving your head.

Compared to the bar end mirrors on flat bars, I felt the STI mounted mirror vibrated more than I would like. I've seen people put the bar end mirrors on the end of the drop bars, but the location felt less than optimal to me.
Fortunately, I only have one bike without a mirror, and that's my folding bike. I keep intending to get a helmet mounted mirror for that, but I only ride it a couple times a year.

consider an "italian road bike " mirror that fits on the end of your handle bar, held in place by your handlebar tape. have one on my road bike, hardly notice it is there, provides a reasonable rear view, is light weight, doesn't get knocked out of place - it really works well. downside- it is a little harder to install than most other mirrors

There is some distortion (fish eye lens like) but its not as bad as the previous handlebar mirror where the distortion drove me nuts. Its not as good as the Mirrcycle that fits on the brake hood but I am happy with it. It looks fine and does not get in the way when you go to the drops.

I use a Mirrycle mounted on a light bracket placed right under the brake hood. It's rock solid and has great field of view. Just put it under the bar tape.
