What Raleigh did I test ride?

I test road a Raleigh road bike at the LBS today. I liked it but I can't figure out what model it is looking at the web site.

It was a black bike with orange and white pinstripes. It said "sport" on the seat post.
Aluminum frame and fork. Shimano shifter. 8 speed cassette. Triple chain ring.

Could be a couple years old. I also road a brand new 2011 Allez.
It was marked down to $500 if that helps.

I think I found it. Aparently Raleigh did make a Sport up until 2010.

The Allez was lighter and smoother with it's carbon fork. LBS owner kept saying that made it "better".
But I hate the paint. BRIGHT RED and white.

The Raleigh looks much nicer to me and it's steel fork will be easier to mount a rack and fender on.
It is also $100 less. I am thinking it is the one.

They also have a Redline metro that looked perfect but it felt cramped. It was hard to overlook the dragging brakes and ticking chain also.

I have a soft spot for the Raleigh, because as a kid I had a Chopper and a Medale which I went everywhere on.Don't know much about the ones are out now.

I have an Gary Fisher Monano which I pull a trailer with the kids in, I love it, it is my first bike since the Medale many decades ago. I looking to put fenders and a rack on it later.

thanks for the reply and good luck with your new bike. I be interested to know what you get.
