got 3 15' strands of garland for 97 cents@ at walmart, a lot of cable ties from harbor freight and homeless depot (~$6 total, with colors), and 2 bike glow lights ($25@ +shipping).

there's garland around the rack, too, but the side views are hidden by the panniers. everything is under the cables. took 2 hours to winterise the bike, replace the rear brake cable, put on the garland, and remove/replace the lights. a month ago i bought a park cn-10 cable cutter and finally got to use it- mostly on the garland. it has a monofilament line that is very tough. did use it on the brake cable.

gonna see whether arvada has a christmas parade. denver's grossly overshadows most of the metro area.

the other bike was seen in eldorado springs last weekend. it is a montgomery ward, model unknown, apparently still being ridden. looks like old-style glow light on it (much thicker optic fiber). the battery pack has been removed.

Need to drag my "bike wreath" out. I made it up of garland and put some battery powered LED lights in it last year. I have already ridden my folder in a Veteran's Day parade and probably will do up the tandem for a couple of local Christmas Parades. We also do a very local one with our vintage tractor pulling a float.

at first i thought you were referring to john denver's song (dude. i am sooooo showing my age). it took a minute to realise you were talking about our recent ballot. didn't know it was news outside the state.

i see (short quote from a film in which a kid says 'i see...dead people').........stoners.......everywhere, mostly 'driving' cars because their sense of balance is shot alllll to heck and can't ride right. the ones that try to ride will be run down by the 'driving' stoners.
i think you got it mostly right, just wrong vehicles. i'm doooooomed.

dunno whether it will change the job market. companies may start firing the non- prescribed dopers. shoot, i may actually have a marketable condition as a non-doper! i may get a job this coming year (allowing for the whatever-it-is calendar next month)!

LED lights came from Walgreen's (didn't see any this year) Micheal's craft store and Hobby Lobby. These are similar to the ones I use. I attach wreath with zip ties or soft tie wire to the handle bars. One of these days I may get around to trying to wire it into the dyno system, or then again maybe not.

my beard is blond, but heading toward white. did santa for 10 years years ago. schools, day cares, even ronald mcdonald house. it was time to let others take over. still love christmas and halloween, though!

I know someone who drives a Jeep decorated and lit up with little sparkling christmas lights every year. looks kinda neat haha.

i put lights on a sorento i had. ran them around the roof rack, down the sides of the windshield, and wrapped them around the running boards. they were ac and i connected an inverter to the battery for power.
this was when some dudes were being arrested for 'personatin' five-o's. blue/red lights in their grills, uniforms, etc. i left the lights on steady burn. looked super, rave reviews. lotsa waving, honking in wyoming and nebraska. the first christmas eve, i got hauled over, and almost hauled off, to the pokey in nebraska. said i was 'personatin'. wrote me a warning and told me i had to take them off right then. said 'no tools' (a lie). said i was to go into sidney and roust someone out who had tools. i didn't. i made a run for the border and jumped it. bad po-po, no doughnut!

the next year i was in texas a week or so before christmas. different lights, same setup, steady burn. lotsa honkin', waving, kudos, semi drivers turning their trailer lights off/on fast, honking. no po-leece hassle. they know the difference in lights, and the difference between a crown vic and a kia!

i do thank you for the offer. i may have to start out now- i don't ride fast.
we either don't have one or i missed the notices.

cheyenne (wyo) has a parade that isn't super long and the town is small, so the paraders
go to the end of one street go left 2 blocks, then left to the end of THAT street, take a right, go 2 blocks, repeat as long as you have visitors who can take zero weather. the visitors scoot over the 2 blocks so they can keep watching. what a great town! i think all the townspeople are in the parade and the crowd is out-of-towners.

steamboat springs (colo) has a marching band that does theirs on skis. on one street. the parade goes to the end, do an about face and comes back. the tail becomes the head. end of parade.
