so for the NE lightweights in the bunch, who take the winter off (like me), when will our temps be consistently 50 degrees or higher? March? April?

Looking back to last years log, I got to ride 7 days in March, since it was a mild winter. April took a dive weather wise with consistent riding starting after the 15th of April.

y'all need to get some winter gear and get out there. I've ridden 25 miles in 32°F no problem.

Down here in Arkansas, the answer to your question is "today".

As long as the lanes are clear (i.e. no ice and snow), I'll be out on a bike. If you ask me, riding outside in the cold beats riding the trainer any day of the week.

Some good thermal tights, wool socks, and wind-proof jacket go a LONG way to make your ride much more comfortable when it's cold out.
