while there are many motorcyclists here, this is primarily a non-motorized cycling site.

    As for motor...

    1. TAKE THE MSF SAFETY COURSE!
    2. This is your FIRST bike, NOT your last (hopefully), so there's no reason why a 125 for the street won't suit you until you get used to it. Unless you're talking dirtbike. You can certainly go 250 without worrying, for the street. I started on a 750 and that was way too much.

125 will give you a lot of vibes. Hey Beerman that's for spoiled brat's --- I drove motor scooters when they first came out in this country. ( recieved as xmas present in '75) Backin the mid '70s. 2 stroke. In which I'd have to pedal it to start the motor. Motobecane. No d.license nor registration needed at that time Cops kept hassling/stopping Me. 'Cause the took forever to want to know about the regs about this motor vehicle.

It just hit me. I'm going to an archery forum to ask about my next choice of shotgun.
School years were the best days of my life. I used to get caned by middle aged women wearing high heels, stocking and glasses. Now I have to pay for it.

If 125 cc is enough depends on what you want to do with it. I started with a 125 cc honda streetbike .125cc is good up to about 40 mph but the bike tops out at 55 and is very buzzy at that speed and is turning about 10'000 rpm.If you want to use it on the freeway get at least 250cc and really that is the minimum.Ideally i would get a 500 cc twin either a vtwin or a vertical twin. You can p.m if you want explanation.
