My love for Schwalbe !

Hi guys,

I just want to share my love for Schwalbe here ! I live in Paris, France, and , as in many cities, streets are covered with pin, nails and broken glass pieces.
Before buying my marathon plus, i did change my inner tubes every two month.

Now that i got those new tires, it's been 6 months since I did not change my inner tubes. I am a happy man.
Do you feel this way ? ;)

Yes, but then I got tired of the harsh ride quality of the tires and switch over to Panaracer RiBMos. Better ride quality and so far, even fewer flats. (Part of that is luck, though, because they don't claim to be as good as Marathon Pluses). I did get one flat through the tread of a Marathon Plus, but had many, many flat-free miles with them.

I chose Schwalbe Marathon Racer Folding Tires in an attempt to improve the ride on a LWB recumbent with a 20" (stiff) front wheel. This succeeded far beyond my expectations. The ultra thin sidewalls have plenty of flex which can be controlled with changes to tire pressure. These tires have really cut down on pavement vibration and still support decent speed. Love 'em. bk :):)

The downside; Price :notamused:

Yeah - but I also think that you being in Europe - Schwalbes put a smaller hole in your wallet too. For some reason they're artificially expensive in North America and worst in Canada.

I've over 4500 miles on a set Marathon Mondial's. No flats and I'll get a few more thousand miles I believe. Great set of tires

Schwalbe Stelvios in 406 were some of the worst tires I ever had. I bought a batch of them and every one of them failed prematurely. Duranos seem to be much better.

I am going to try a pair of Ultremo ZX Tubeless this spring, to see how they compare to the Hutchinson Fusion 3's. As soon as they become available over here...

I put almost 3,000 miles on my Schwalbe Marathon Mondials last year. I had one flat, and that was from a valve that tore loose from the tube. Not a single tire puncture!!!!

Thanks for the tip ! Where can you find those tires "Panaracer RiBMos" ? online ?

Reading your comments, I know I made the good choice ! Thanks for sharing your experiences ! ;)

My tires are : MARATHON PLUS 28-622 (28 x 1 1/8, 700 x 28C)
They got useful reflective sides.

Tried Specialized Armadillos and Conti Gatorskins, but I love me some Schwalbe Marathons. On my second set now and can't see buying anything else as long as they keep making them.

How do the Schwalbe Marathons compare with the Bontrager Hard-Case?

I love my 26x1.5 Schwalbe Greenguards! They handle the abuse that Portland potholes dish out, glass, and other crap in the street.
