Cycling Patches??

Here is a strange request. I have a older leather suede winter jacket that has a 1" tear over the right breast. I really like the jacket and was wondering if anyone has any type of cycling type patch that they would be willing to part with? I would have my wife sew it on.
Thanks!!

A patch is sure to elicit questions, so it's best to use one from a ride you've actually done. Just to throw out one, the Helluva Ride in SE Michigan gives patches. As a 'benefit,' there's always a small group of BikeForum-ers there.

+1
I have patches lying around but they are from rides I've done.

A search on the internet yields some interesting generic patches that might suit your needs:

That brings back memories. I did that ride around 1980 when I was at Univ of Michigan.

There was someone in the Ann Arbor bike club that had a bike jacket totally covered with patches.

Do rides even give out patches anymore?

The last dozen or so I've done have given or sold T-shirts. I used to like that, because I'm not a patch-sewer and you can always wear a T-shirt...but I swamped out our garage and spare room a few months ago and donated almost 200 T-shirts dating back to a bicentennial ride in 1976.

I got these patches and I got these patches!

Last time I got a patch from an organized ride was 2009.

Iron on fabric patches are sold, in fabric-sewing shops. to make a functional repair.
patches others show are like battle ribbons, you earn them..

I have souveneir rucksack patches I picked up as I went around Europe, from cities and countries.
they all got sewn onto a daypack , rather than my panniers.
