The seller posted it and doesnt know model? would this be a good buy?

It looks like a 2011 escape 2. You need to see if it is steel or Aluminum. The newer ones are aluminum I believe. But the color looks like the 2011 steel bike. They were call a hybrid but in truth they were more of a flat bar road bike/commuter.
