and a bike shop on every 3rd block, there, and chums to show it off to.. they say Ah .. 'nice bike'..

What is that behind the bike? Is that big steel cables for tying up a ship?

Yes. The last Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show was on the docks of Portland's Swan Island industrial area. Docks, drydocks, shipyardy stuff. Kind of fun to compare the scale of the machinery.
