Here's a good article in USA Today stating the ten worse jobs in sport. The 9th worst job is a Soigneur for a pro cycling team. I'll tell you one thing. I'll never do this job for 25K a year! A 100K yes, 25K no!

The worst jobs in cycling:

Promoter: thankless
USCF Official: long days
Pace car driver: my arse hurts, and this car smells funny.
Motorcycle marshal: my arse is numb.
mechanic: it's 8pm. you've finally settled down for dinner, and now some guy is standing at your table asking if you can adjust his rear derailleur.

I'm sure there's more.
