    New world record rocket bicycle

263km/h, 163.4mph on a rocket bicycle using hydrogen peroxide. Not sure if it is still a bicycle

They call it a 'rocket bike' but I think the inference is 'rocket motorcycle'.

I've routinely exceed 160 mph on my bike...1000 cc sportbike, not bicycle. It's nuts enough on that.

I don't know what tire I would trust at 160 mph. I do know I haven't seen it yet.

Ummm... I think that's nuts on a motorcycle, too. Just not quite as nuts...

Even if it uses a bicycle frame, with that much power, its a motorcycle.

    More info here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...ered-bike.html

It looks like a custom bicycle-type frame with regular bicycle wheels.

If it's got an engine, and you can't pedal it...it's a motorcycle.

Look at the photos. It has pedals, a chain, and a rear derailleur.

And he is wearing a regular cycling helmet, gloves, jersey, shorts and shoes as well.

Doesn't mean much. Some cyclists wear motorcycle helmets during harsh canadian winter.
I have tried that myself. I wear motorcycle gloves and hunting mukluks during winter.

And if i use a sail on the bicycle or if i fart (not sure if i will go faster though. Depends on the beans quality) is it still an engine?

If it's got a sail, it's a yacht, duh, and why on earth would you eat anything else than Heinz baked beans for effective farts?

If the rider drank the hydrogen peroxide and it made him pedal that fast, then it would be a bicycle.

How cold do you think it was on the day of the run?

Interesting that the speed is a bit lower than the current record for motor-pacing on a human-powered bicycle (167 mph) and not that much faster than the record for unpowered downhill (138 mph).
