LBS has been coming through in spades.
Wow I must say I think I pretty clearly found my LBS of choice. I had hated this shop 15 years ago and while under the same ownership I do now know the GM as he is married to a friend of my wife's. I had been shopping around town since getting back into cycling last year but not until I started dealing solely with this individual did I start getting good prices. So here are some of the deals I have gotten:
Sidi Genius 4 Originally $229 -> $125 (that was back in Oct)
Conti Ultra Gatorskin marked $35 -> $32 and included a new tube free
CycleOps Magnito trainer marked $230 -> $185
Mavic 517/Surly SS rear wheel marked at $125 -> $85
Mavic/Deore front wheel marked $65 -> $50
Specialized Dolce saddle for the wife's bike marked $40 -> $32.99
BMX Freewheel makred $18.95 -> $14.35
If I am going to keep getting deals like these there clearly isn't a reason to shop online. I don't know how much of it is me picking things that are on closeout (shoes and trainer were for sure) or if my buddy is just hooking me up as a friend, but I know were I am going first for all future purchases, the only thing I will probably buy online would be clothes as they don't have much of a selection.
G if you are out there you know who you are and thanks.

The guys are my local LBS are hooking me up as well. Of course it helps to get deals when you go in and buy 4 Trek Equinox 7 and accessories at once. (4 of us did a group purcahse deal) He told us that he would meet the price of any of the print catalogs. His reasoning is he'd rather make $10.00 profit than no profit at all by losing the sale to an online vendor.
