bike route suggestion for Houston

I'm doing a bike fit in Houston tomorrow morning. After that, I would like to bike around Houston to test my fit, and see the sights while I'm at it. Obviously, it'd be nice to avoid traffic. I'm looking for at least 20 miles, but not too much, because I do experience foot pain, and I'm not entirely confident the bike fit will completely solve that problem. If all else fails, I'll just pack a GPS, and just take off.

any suggestions?

P.S. I'm just looking for a route that would be easy to remember.

Depending on where in Houston there are many options. What kind of ride? Road? MTB?

That's kind of an involved question. But for starters, the best bike riding in the Houston area is found by getting as far out of Houston as possible. The Houston area randonneuring rides start over in Brookshire, for example, and go west and north generally. If you're not driving to your start point, it might help to know exactly what part of town you're in. If you're being fitted at a bike store, ask them and you can probably get some routes that are right there close to the store.

I went on a trail Along Memorial and Allen Pkwy. Then I stopped at Memorial park to do a few quick laps.
