Its hearing things like this that make me sick. I really cannot understand how some people haven't got any moral support for others, plus I always beleive in that saying "what comes around goes around." Ever heard of that story "The boy who cried wolf"

Yep a2psyklnut, you got me thinking....and laughing

I looked at your last reply and noticed many inconsistancies.

You claim not to give a "rats ass" about what we think, but then in the next sentence state that it is ok whether we agree with you, or not!!!

You claim you believe that having different philosophies,
makes the world great, but your initial thread shows only intolerance towards believe systems other than your own!!

Freedom of speech comes with a responsibility. To be a good practitioner of this right means that you must allow for views, even strong ones, dissimilar from your own, to be heard.

Lastly, your initial thread makes the mistake of confusing THE USA, for the rest of the world!!! No, I do not wonder what is wrong with the world, the answer is too complex, but I seem to have a pretty good idea what is wrong on the other side of the devide.....

I'm not sure what handbags at dawn means... flew over my head. But I certainly didn't like a2psyklnut's post either. Increasingly we are citizens of the world and I am uncomfortable with my countries creaping imperialism. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of the US and my fellow countrymen, but we are making grave mistakes. Anyway, I think that a post like that should be treated with humour rather than taken seriously.

I agree with lotek that a2psyklnut has every right in the world both to his opinion and to express it. It is hardly an uncommon one. The flaw in the argument is that noone can accurately point back to the "golden age" when we lived in a society much closer to Ms. Graham's ideal. The early 20th C. was no great shakes if you were black and native Americans probably don't look back on the 1800s with great nostalgia either.

Other than the above observation I will not enter the theological fray. My own beliefs tell me that the mind of God is beyond my ability to discern so I will not be bold enough to speak for Him.

As a teacher I work with kids and some are great individuals who would've jumped in the water to save the guy if they'd been there and some are downright scary. They're not very different from adults when you get to it. Unfortunately, this guy apparently was seen by some of the second type.

Well, it's a small world with it's share of folks who never miss an opportunity to stray from the "subject", for whatever the reason.

The truth* of the matter is that the "subject" incident occurred in Sandpoint, Idaho, my little town, and the whole story (It made the headlines) can be had first-hand by e-mailing the "Bonner County Daily Bee" at bcdailybee@cdapress.com. They may have more inside info or follow-up news.

*It's said that every time you try to be honest, the truth gets in the way.

This is about as much as I want to be involved in this thread.
