Removing tar stains

Does anybody know how I can remove tar stains from Ortlieb panniers and pedals?

During our tour the road was melting and we got some tar on things. Managed to remove larger chunks, but my orange Ortliebs look awful :-(

Maybe eucalyptus oil. Kerosene/diesel. WD40 as suggested.

Test an area that is not conspicuous to ensure that whatever you use doesn't remove the colour or melt the fabric. Probably also best to wash afterwards with warm soapy water.

WD40 did the job! There's just a shadow of black left, but I decided to leave it be. It will be a reminder of that crazy ride in Ireland, when it was so hot that the road was melting. ;-)

Thanks for advice, everyone!
