Four in all.
Old steel road bike that mainly sits on the turbo trainer now.
Touring bike, a Rocky Mountain Sherpa 10.
Hybrid commuter bike, an internally geared Rocky Mountain Metropolis.
Look 566 carbon fiber road bike.
I'm not completely happy with the hybrid or the touring bike. The hybrid is ugly and has a very harsh ride. I'm thinking of selling it and getting a mixte, either a Soma or the new Kona disc brake mixte. The touring bike I might replace with a cyclocross bike for better cornering on some of the twistier parts of the trail system. Before moving here I sold an old 26" wheel touring bike and a track bike that I hadn't used in a long time. My husband has almost every bike he's ever owned, some of which are still in boxes from the move almost 4 years ago. I'm not even sure how many there are in total.

4 bikes
Trek steel road bike
Specialized Roubaix road bike
Quntara Roo Triathlon bike
Co-Motion Java tandem
60/40% use between the Specialized Roubaix and the Triathlon bike.
For casual riding the Co-Motion tandem comes out. Or, if my wife starts to get pissed that I'm not riding with her enough

3 bikes. The mountain bike pretty much crushes the small ones in riding time. For longer distances and varying terrain, it's just more comfy. But each has it's own purpose & personality, and I love 'em all the same.
A '99ish cheapy 'Goose. It's the neighborhood cruiser, that's why it's all cluttered like that.
The trick bike, 2000-something Specialized. I'm horrrrrible at the stuntin' though, can only halfway do one or two flatland things.
And the big bike, a Trek Skye. Mostly sees action on dirt roads/paths, but we finally got a taste of singletrack this year. This pic was the second time out to the state park.

Just finished number 31, a 1989 Colnago Master Ibex MTB restoration. Number 32 is being built right now by Bill Holland. I'm selling a his/hers 1970s Schwinn Continental pair in metallic root beer color for $300 to bring the total back down to 30. They will be on display at the San Diego Velodrome Fall Swap Meet on November 10.
