Except it aint new and it's not fast enough a challenge.. ie ..
falls Way short, current record set at : 268.831 kilometers an hour, 167.044 mph.

tough its an ordinary car modification, rather than altering track and train.

John Howard got team Vesco to modify one of the older Bonneville record cars, to block the wind, for 152mph.

Did you look at the video? The guy designing the bike states he is not trying to break any records. The video does a better job of explaining it then the text associated. It is about diy and making. Being bike related, I thought others here might be interested.

I know I was most impressed with how well he handled running into the rear bumper of the car he is drafting when the driver had a shifting problem.

All I know about the gentleman is from the video in the article. In that he states what he is doing is not about 'breaking records'. The article was in a Make Magazine blog post. A periodical about everyday folks who like to build things themselves. The impression I got from the video is that he is interested in seeing how fast he can go, and learning what kind of bike design it takes to do so.

I have serious doubts the old green Ford Zephyr in the picture on the link in the OP is capable of 60mph, let alone 100mph and even when fitted with a V8!

You might be surprized what's under the hood,small blocks fit in there real easy.

Zephyr has some interesting meanings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZEPHYR_(code_word)

being for lung cancer in tobacco company code speak , following the tailpipe of one , it may have applicability.

Some Zephyr models did come from the factory fitted with V8s. The one in the picture for the bike doesn't look like one of them.

I am not sure where you sourced the picture, but the master cylinder may well be on the correct side for right-hand drive. They are, after all, a British car.
