I once asked my dad, who was good at buying and selling, for advice on pricing something that I was trying to sell. He said "Just pull a number out of your head. If you still have it a month from now, the price was too high. If you've sold it, the price was too low."
Regardless of what anybody tells you about the value of an item, your success will hinge on your ability to find a buyer who agrees on that price. Realistically, for a brand new bicycle in perfect condition, I'd be looking at about 1/2 actual retail selling price (not MSRP).
