What is this wheel?

I've searched and searched the entire World Wide Web and found nothing. Has anyone out there heard of a wheel called a Mavic 196? It is a very deep V shape and measures I think 622-13. I'm trying to figure out what its intended use is I guess because I'm thinking about putting it on a project with an MA3 in back already. Also, it needs truing if it's worth it.
Thanks!

OK, so this rim - laced to a not dead Shimano hub - can it be paired with a 15 mm wide rear wheel that is not deep V but double-wall? I can't think of why this would be an issue, but am I missing something re: handling, wear & tear, etc.? I plan to run 700cx25 tires.

your rear wheel does not
notice what type of front wheel
you have on your bike

the only thing that could mess things up
is if you put vastly different size
wheels on the front and rear
that the frame and fork were notdesigned for

otherwise
front steel and rear carbon
or rear steel and front disk
or front single wall and rear deep v
makes no difference
