Mounting suggestions; Honda CRV

Hi everyone,

I didn't have any problems fitting my bike inside the CRV via the 9mm QR Fork mount at the back. See pic below.

Using this the mount I used.

Now the problem is, I am replacing my old FOX Float 9mmQR fork with a FOX Talas 15QR fork. I've searched the local shops for a similar product for a 15QR, but no one has given me any options.

Looking for solutions.

Thanks.

Dex

I just lay the bike down on it's NDS. Both it and I often wind up like this (and on the DS) on the trials anyway.

I have the same mount but not the same base. Your base is wide and maybe very stable. Consider a different base that would minimize it's footprint. And then position the bike with the new fork in an angle, a diagonal and it should fit.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions..

I ended up with a subpar solution as compared before, but it still works.. (sort of)

I got a bike stand for the rear, holds the rear wheel. So the bike is still upright and on the base of the fork. This is good on the highway, but on the rough roads (going to the trails), the bike sways left and right, and the handle bar turns, hitting the rear window (Even when going slowly (less than 10kmh)).

I have made an order for a 15QR mount, but the LBS said it will be custom made and won't be available until 3 weeks.. For $150, it is an expensive solution.. But breaking a window will be more expensive, so I went for it.

This is a pain because I bring my bike with me everyday..

I could always get a bike rack; either spare tyre mounted or hitch mounted which is about the same cost ($150-200).
However, I need the bike inside the SUV and away from sight, for security reasons. I leave the bike inside the car for 8-9hrs while I'm in the office..
I can take the bike inside the office, but it will be such a hassle.
