Just found this site. I've been bicycling off and on since I had training wheels as a kid. I haven't traveled as much as some, but have relocated a few times. I've ridden/rode(sp?) a bunch around Seattle and the surrounding countryside, a little in Oregon, a fair amount in So. California, and in Nor.California up the hill from Sacramento. Currently I'm in Wisconsin and am finally getting back into cycling - just in time for winter. Go figure, didn't spin one pedal all summer, and now that Autumn is here I'm getting back on the bike.
I'm starting a conditioning program to get ready for next summer when I plan to ride a bunch. My plan is to do a century on the first day of Spring, or the nearest weekend day to it. Just got a new/old MTB that had been sitting at the local LBS for a few years, so will be using that during the winter so I don't ruin my road bikes. Part two of my plan is to dump about 40 pounds or so of excess weight, but I figure the weight loss will take care of itself just by being active and riding this winter. Hopefully we'll have another mild winter so I can get more time/miles riding.
I also plan to do the occaisional commute to work on Fridays this winter. It will be about 22 miles by car/motorcycle, so should work out to about 25 miles each way by bicycle by the time I find all the alternate roads to use. Still learning my way around Wisconsin backroads.
Anyway, just thought I'd post a howdy while I'm wandering around learning what's here on this site.

Hi Mike!
Hiya, I'm new here too. I dropped into this forum during a lunchtime surf session on Halloween, so I'm looking around and trying to see what's going on here as well.
I hope to bump into you on the forums from time to time...
