bicycle storage

Im contemplating building a storage shed dedicated for my family's bicycles and the gear that goes with it. I want to get them outta the garage as I only have a one car garage and it is cramped, without a car. But before I do do this I thought I would ask you all if you have any other ideas for bicycle storage. We have eight bicycles between the three of us, three get ridden the most while the rest just take up space most of the time. No im not going to sell any.......well not yet anyway.
Ive thought storage lockers but those are just small sheds. Any ideas? Oh and in the house is not an option.

We too have a shed for bike storage, sort of a small salt box design approx 8x12", storing 8-10 bikes is easy. My un-tall partner uses the lower side for her bikes. Used a spare 32" wide storm door from a greenhouse project, wish I had used a 36" door. The size is ample for our bikes, it seems to collect a lot of non bike stuff.

That reminds me, I need to clear out our shed. (No bikes in it.)
A shed dedicated to bikes could work for some.

"Stuff expands to fit space available."

I have a two-car garage. There are two cars in the driveway. We only own two cars. Do the math.

Comet, I would get something a little nicer than a plastic "garden" shed. Take a look at Tuff Sheds or something similar, pick a style that matches your house, and paint it to match. Make sure the doors have sturdy locks on them, too.

Lemme just toss this out there...

How about having a garage sale, donate stuff, or otherwise de-clutter the garage. Then put the left over items in the shed, bikes stay in the garage, win-win.:)

How much room do you have and what are the local codes and CC&Rs if any? I would consider building it big enough to store the bikes and provide a shop/work area. Also consider running elec and insulating it.

Ive thought about building either an addition to the garage or just another garage but I dont think the wife would go for that. But I could probably swing 2500 $ for a nice shed.
