Very interesting Lance article

I found this on another forum (yeah I do read others)
it isn't your typical Lance worship article. It speaks more
to Lance the cancer survivor and what that means to
a whole lot of people (myself included by the way).

The USA TODAY Article is here.

But it's missing the hilarious illustration that graces the cover of the print edition, in which a photo of Lance -- graced with a bicycle-wheel halo -- is photoshopped to look like a cracked and faded oil painting on the wall of some cathedral.

I bought the paper just for the picture.

It's kind of a sappy article, but typical of USA today. It's cool that he spoke to Saku Koivu, though. EVer since Koivu came back to play this season everyone's been comparing him to Lance. It was pretty miraculous- Koivu was really sick and it was doubtful he'd make it let alone play hockey again. He's a big hero around these parts, even though the Canadiens lost!

I thought that it was a nice article. Not the best writing in the world but it was a nice article (kinda nice to read a good one rather than one about some buddy being killed or some thing like that!)

you know, even if you don't like Lance
as a racer, given the negative press
about cycling (i.e. garzelli and probenecide,
Simoni and cocaine etc.) its good to see
some positives. The general public needs
to see pro cycling in a better light.
I really hope this helps.

I think you're right, but I don't find coverage of cycling to be all that negative anyways. Except mayabe in the mainstream press, since they cover cycling so little and when they do, it's always about something scandalous. But cycling magazines have both positive and negative stuff about it
