tricks to polishing spokes and hubs
 
are there any tricks or even good techniques for polishing spokes and hubs? I'd be interested in knowing. thanks,

The best technique is don't, and make pretend that you did.

I quite often will tear down the wheel to make it easier, especially if it is something that is worth making it look just right. Otherwise they get a lick and a promise, I am more interested in having it work than being purdy.

Just part of why I prefer black Anodized, over something I need to maintain a polish on..

Old school .. hanging a piece of leather around your hub, with a little weight where you join them
makes it self polishing, as you Ride..

Spokes , if older Zn coated, leave as is , the grey is there to resist rusting.

Wipe the crud off with a rag or paper towel. It's easier after a rain ride.

0000 Steel wool - and determination. 'bout too much hassle to attempt without removing wheels from bike - very doable tho'.
