Darn you Nashbar, darn you.

Got a $100 Nashbar gift card for Christmas, and spent it all on a work stand yesterday for $99.99, with $16.99 for shipping, so I had to charge $16.98 on my credit card. Then today I get an email about a 20% off promotion which cannot be applied to previous orders. Could have saved 20 bucks and not had to charge that shipping. I thought about waiting yesterday for a 20% off promotion, or at least a free shipping promotion, but then I thought the stand might not be on sale anymore when one came around. But it is.

Dangit dangit dangit. :notamused:

Call them up...They will give you the discount.

I wasn't aware that they ever didn't have a 20% promo going.

They have been very good about honoring better pricing.

Bah! I quit using Nashbar when they compromised my credit card #. Getting hacked is excusable; but denying it for 6 months isn't. They finally got around to telling me, the day after I have to have my card replaced due to questionable charges.

Our local Performance Bike is very good about honoring their online pricing, if it is lower than in-store. Plus, no shipping charge ever for what's on the shelves.

Problem wasn't with "the stuff happening" it was their extremely belated response to it. I had a card compromised through them, I brought it to their attention about 45 days after it happened, they refused to acknowledge it until several months later and then all they did was give me a discount. They lost my business. FWIW I have had 4 different cards compromised in the past couple of years, what irritates me is the banks wanting me to change my online passwords on a regular basis. Guess what? THAT isn't the problem, every card has been compromised on the clearinghouse or retailer's end.

Same here. Have not used them since. The letter they sent around months later was an insult.
