Stolen Bike
Hello all... I am new here and in need of help. I posted this in my intro...
Hi, I am Dave. I am 47 and I live in Eastern, PA. I have been riding almost two years and I am very much into riding as a lifestyle, my outlet, my passion, my freedom! I had posted an ad on Craigslist and got a reply to it directing me here - here is why:
I bought the bike of my dreams in April 2013 and sadly, she is gone ... Stolen, that is
I know where, when, why, how and even who - but I can't prove a thing. I am quite sure it has been relocated to Lancaster, PA - or somewhere in the area. Likely being kept in the dark and being neglected. BUT, I am hopeful that they may bring her to a shop to try to trade or sell, or maybe to be serviced. Please keep an eye out and email me directly at ItzMeDave1@aol.com if you think you may have seen it. I just want my bike back... I am sure you can relate. Lots of details below...
Oh, please feel free to share this anywhere that you think it may be helpful. Thank you!

Do you have your frame's serial number? If not, check with the shop you bought it from to see if they have it on record.
If you know the who/where,you should be able to get the police to act as long as you have proof(ser #) of ownership.

For sure watch e-bay, craigs list, and the local ads in the news paper.
BTW a tip that I do and have seen others post. Hid a note or business card somewhere inside the frame. If recovered it proves ownership.
Also sorry for your loss, I hope it is recovered. Check with your Ins agent. When I had a bike stolen from the back of our garage, my homeowners ins paid completely for a new one. And-------------I alway take pictures of my bikes and trike for proof of ownership to show both the ins company and the police.

Thanks... I have been watching both sites closely and posted ads on CL as well about it being stolen. As I replied to he other comment. It is my now ex girlfriend who has stolen it. I can't prove anything. She told police I picked it up, a lie. I would even write off the guitar and all the clothing and whatever just to have my bike back... although the value of the other items is about $1,000 above and beyond the bike. Whatever... I am not giving up.
Thanks again
