At long last

At long last the four rotten months of the year Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb are past. Starting here in Mar even in the snow belt where I am, we should get a few days that are warm enough to get in a few rides. It will be great to get out on the trails and see what has changed since my last rides of 2013.

Winter is coming back to Central Indiana tonight and tomorrow but TODAY I RIDE!

But, daylight hours are increasing and temps are trending up. There is hope, indeed.

Its up to almost 20 degrees in Chicago. Downright balmy. The 0 to -10 mornings I'm hoping are done with. And I still see kids going to school in shorts. I'd just like to see a week above freezing. Then I might start thinking of riding my bike.

Yeah if it got up to 40'f the normal temp for now
that would be downright balmy

Yeah baby. 77 miles today sans chemical warmers, one layer of gloves, just a jersey and windbreaker... just before the next snowmageddon hits!

Wish I could have had my first ride of 2014 today. Unfortunately wife's car was stuck down the road with a dead battery. Had to run to town for a battery (at least a 3 hour ordeal). Then had to replace brakes once I got it home. Anniversary party for the inlaws after all that.

The good part is I got to stop at the bike shop and finally order my Escape 1! Though I want to get back out on 2 wheels, I was hoping not to have nice weather until I get it. Really want the first ride of the year tonot be on the Walmart bike. Looks like it will be cold again up until my bike comes in.

Well that ride is NE may happen this weekend, I normally like it to be at least above 50 degrees. I hate these below zero temps.

Weather still blows here in NE Indiana. Record snowfall for the date March 2. All time low high supposed to be set today. AGAIN. Plus it has snowed EVERY weekend so far in 2014. Winter from HE double hockey sticks. Approaching 500 miles on the trainer this year and I AM SICK OF IT.

It is 3 degrees right now.
