Help Me Identify Swedish Crescent

Hello! New to Bike Forums, but many of my Googled questions have led me here. Help needed identifying my bicycle! I live in Sweden and recently bought a "Crescent" bike and know next to nothing about it. It has wonderful, old front and back lights, but they do not work. In the Swedish style, it has a built-in back tire lock (also broken), and a very sticky five gears. On the frame, near the left pedal, it says BKF259771. I am curious to know more about my "new" bike, other than the word Crescent. I want to try to fix the old front and back lights myself, but I need to know more about the specifics of the bike first! Can anyone help me? I am trying to attach photos, but cannot seem to make it work...

The best way to include photos is to host them on a site like flicker, picasa, etc. and then link to them in your message. You might also try posting your query in the "Classic and Vintage" forum.

It is interesting that Crescent was originally Crescent American, a bike built by Western Wheel Works in Chicago in the early days of bicycle manufacture. The company shipped bikes to Sweden way back then. Somebody in Sweden "stole" the name later on and began to make bikes according to one of the articles below. Here's a few links that came up just by Googling on Crescent Bicycle:
Crescent of Sweden, main
TheBikeTube.com | Bicycle Maintenance and Bike Wheel Building for the Masses
Swedish Crescent

They aren't listed at all on Bikepedia.com dating back to 1993 when the list of bikes starts. That's a good site to research information on original components and MSRP for a lot of bikes
