What shoes you use when Cycling?
I use my standard issued "bob barkers" https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5592/...8b7e1613b0.jpg They work good. You can bend your toes and they bend with them.. You can feel the pedal.. I like to know i have good pedal contact.. |
If I'm going any distance, I like to use a stiff-soled bike shoe. Since it's still chilly around here, I'm using my fleece-lined winter shoes:

Sidi Dominators, I'm on my 4th pair of Sidi's in 30 years.
|
Specialized something-or-other road bike shoes.
Prior to using cycling shoes, I had some shoes from REI that had fairly stiff soles and worked better than sneakers. |
them shoes don't look too comfortable
|
It depends on what I am riding.
I usually live in Merrell barefoot shoes and these work with flat pedals while I also have most of my day to day rides equipped with 50/50 flat / spd pedals and have several pairs of mtb / touring shoes to wear with them that are also comfortable off the bike and pass as running shoes. My mountain bike has eggbeaters and a pair of dedicated Adidas mtb shoes (stiffer) as does my road bike that uses Look pedals and cleats with another pair of Adidas racing shoes. |
Above 50f, fake walmart crocs. (sorry)

Birkenstocks most of the time.
|
For my road bike I have a pair of Chain and a vintage pair of aviva. I also like to ride my rat traps pedals with a pair of all leather nikes.
|
Specialized S-Works on my road bike
Giro Privateer on my CX bike Whatever on my beater bike |
Plain old Keen Sandals
|
Sandals or running shoes. Army boots in the winter.
|
The last few years I have been wearing steel toed shoes. They come in real handy just about anywhere.
Steel is real. ha |

Whatever is on my feet... I try to stay away from barefoot riding and open toes.
Aaron :) |
Barefoot riding with freeride pedals would be very painful....
|
Lake Mountain Bike Shoes.
Shoes that don't bend ... they've got stiff soles so that my feet don't hurt while riding. |
I have a pair of Lake Trekking shoes (they came in the wide width I need) with cleats for my Crank Bros Candy pedals. I use them after I have enough miles to feel stable clipping in.
Since I haven't ridden significant mileage for a few years, I am currently wearing my Columbia hiking boots on cool days, and Reebok walking shoes otherwise. These are the shoes I wear all day, so basically if I don't clip in, I ride with whatever I am wearing that day. :) |
For my two fastest road/race bikes: 80's Diadora leather velcro-closure shoes, comfortable but stiff with SPD-SL; neoprene booties for winter
For touring/utility/fixed/mountain: Shimano lace up MTB shoes with SPD; neoprene booties for winter For fixed/utility/touring/mountain: Lake sandals with SPD, the closed toe cap ones. They're pretty comfortable and fit the foot surprisingly well. I only ride clipless. If I'm riding to a "walking around" destination, then I throw appropriate shoes into my pannier, trunk bag, or backpack. |
I have Keen Austin and Keen Commuter II shoes for riding clipped in.
For platform pedals, my favorite is my Teva Roller Mesh shoes http://i.stpost.com/teva-roller-mesh...x_02~460.2.jpg |
Thats cool shoes
|
Prefer Chrome Krush.
