I like "Da Brim" for sun protection: Da Brim :: Products :: Cycling

It does a good job of protecting face, ears and neck. It fits snugly and securely to my bike helmet. Be aware that they make several styles with different recommended top speeds. I have the "classic" which is the biggest (most coverage). I can feel its affect when I approach 20mph but I've gone up to 30mph with no issues.

Specialized makes a line of clothing called "Deflect UV." I only know this because I bought one of their jerseys at an LBS that I had a gift certificate for. It's short sleeve. Problem is that when I Google looking for more of them, they're hard to find. In fact I can't even see that the short-sleeved jerseys even exist, they're not listed on Specialized's website. I see long-sleeved versions but not sure how those would work in summer. I wear arm sleeves with my short-sleeved jerseys.

I'm not familiar with the ACA product, but I use something that I'm sure is similar. I've been wearing one of these for two years and highly recommend them:

Treadley Helmet Hats

When considering sun protection for the face, neck and head it is important that you do not compromise the protection of the helmet, assuming you wear one. That is why I did not choose Da Brim. In a crash, it seems to me anyway, that the stiff brim could cause neck injuries. This is my opinion anyway.

And, just like the sun sleeves being cooler than bare skin, these Treadly helmet hats really keep me cooler. Yes, they are vented.

A couple other points worth mentioning: 1. It prevents stinging insects from getting trapped in your helmet vents, and 2. I can still use my visor mounted helmet mirror.

Not meaning to be argumentative, but the brim on Da Brim is fabric and I can't imagine it causing neck injuries in a crash. The brim is stiff enough to stay out of your line of vision, but not stiff enough to cause injury in a crash. I like mine and it's a permanent part of my riding gear.
