I've been looking for a new, expensive, hopefully not as time consuming hobby since I gave up on golf a few years ago. Recently moved into an area where the roads have little traffic and there are many short hills making for great biking. Can also get on a greenway trail within two miles where I can go 7-8 miles in either direction.
Used to mountain bike when I was younger and lived in the mountains in MT, but never really got into it, didn't like the constant hill climbing for the first 1/2 of the ride, followed by nothing by downhill.
Now at 53, really getting into it. Have been going out most workday mornings around dawn for a quick 1/2 hour ride, with longer 10-20 mile rides on the weekends.
Bought a Trek 7.3 FX, added clipless pedals and shoes last week. Got some lights today so I can continue to ride in the mornings as dawn makes it's creep later and later each day.
Already dreaming about my next bike, likely to be full on carbon.
