Bike identification
I bought this bike at a garage sale. It has trek decals in it but not sure of the model. The year should be 2000.
Can someone help? Thanks a lot

That X-shaped top tube(s) combo looks pretty unique.

I wonder if that was an early model of what later became the Y-Foil.

No Numbers on the head tube.
there is an HC label on the baci of the Seat tube. See pic
Below the bottom bracket there is a number (actually 2): 6606 J9806

I wanted to have a look at a photo of the non drive side so I could see the rear disc brake mount, Trek bikes from the early 2000's had a bolt on disc brake mount that other brands don't use.

This bike isn't a Trek.
Someone has just put some Trek decals on some other bike of unknown make, it doesn't look like it was a very expensive bike either.
A 'HC' decal on a Trek frame refers to the frame being made from carbon, your frame isn't made from carbon.
I'd say the decals are from a early to mid 2000's Trek 9.8 Elite which was made from carbon.
* The rear brake adapter looks to be attached incorrectly.
* The brake rotors are on the wrong way around, the 'arms' on them should be angled in the opposite direction.
I hope you didn't pay too much for this bike.
