Best Christmas Gift/Best Wife
As usual, my wife said "no gifts". Sometimes we sneak one in anyways. This Christmas morning my wife (a very occasional rider) surprised me in bed with a check for a new bike. I have two, a 15 year old MTB based commuter and a 30 year old steel roadbike. I mostly commute and had mentioned last Christmas that I really only wanted one more bike, a tourer which would slot between the two but have a longer wheelbase and more fork trail for a more relaxed ride and possibly an internal gearset. and maybe a mixte for ease of mounting (I do qualify for the 50+ forum). ...and she remembered! I will add in whatever my birthday cash I garner next month and see what I come up with.

Your wife gave you a check??? Do you have separate checking accounts?

Got it! Charge Plug 4. A steel, semi-touring bike with a longer wheelbase than either of my bikes. I will add fenders, and a rack, plus the usual lights, horn, bell, computer, etc. Plug had halved the price on this bike. It is exactly what I envisioned getting, I just didn't know what or where. More later!

Here's the bike! We have toyed with the idea of a pedi-cab (possibly) We saw one apparently homeless couple where the woman staddled a Burley-style kid's trailer (absolutely not!) and have yet to rent a tandem, (she's seen my commute videos and is kinda leery). We have done some leisure rides at local parks and those are fun...and the best are the rides with her and the grand-kids!
