Best Balaclava?
Hi,
Winter will not release its grip here in the Philadelphia area. It was 2°F this morning and I decided to try the balaclava instead of my skull cap. My face was nice and warm on the decent, but when I stopped at the light my shield and glasses frosted up. Does anyone have recommendations for balaclavas with good mouth venting?
Ride Safe,
Joe

I would buy one like this and just cut a breathing hole where the little perforations are

Assuming this is a fairly thin polypro balaclava, I've found directing how I breath out works pretty well. Focus on blowing down, instead of straight out or even up, when exhaling through the mouth. Nose breathing is another story, as it seems to depend on apparent wind on my face more than anything else -- I don't have a prehensile nose!

Have a mixed Polar fleece, neoprene face Mask that velcros behind my neck
the nose part lets me exhale down. Havent needed it for Years where I Live
The name comes from their use at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War, referring to a town near Sevastopol in Crimea.
Ukraine, still a battled over place..

I bought just the facemask because I had an balaclava I already liked. No fogging issues unless I start sweating.https://www.amazon.com/R-U-Outside-Fo.../dp/B00R3YXU7G
