Same reason I don't leave on the license plate frame from car dealers. I don't like providing free advertising.

here it doesn't matter there is only 1 dealer for any certain brand of car anyhow.

Portland has several to compete for your attention

I think I would faint if I found a bike with a sticker from the now long gone shop I worked at in 1977.

So the folks who are removing the decals from their bikes, do you peal off the dealership decals from your car, too?
Yes I do.

And all the other badges/markings too.

This is the back of my hauler:

A heat gonne takes off anything, the trick is finding the right temperature. If you get it too hot, it'll take the paint off too...

A piece of nylon string will cut through the double sided foam tape used to attach badges to cars these days. Just use it like a saw and clean up the residue with WD-40. I reserve the heat *** for vinyl graphics.

The heat gonne is the easy, fastest, and best way. I'm not for doing things the hard way. But to each their own.

For a vintage car owner, a dealer frame from the original dealer is a rare item to have.

I figure it is part of the provenance of the bike.
