I have a couple of friends who have done it and loved it. I do a charity ride from CLE to CINCI at the same time so I have not done it myself.

I have done it several times. Hot and flat the first time, hot and hilly the second time. You defginitely get your monies worth and it's always cool to go with a friend or two. Wardie

I did it last year. My gf won't camp so we did the motel option. I loved the ride, it was in the southwest corner of Ohio last year - Hillsboro, Washington Courthouse, Wilmington, Chillicothe. Nice mix of flat and hills, the hills on the rest day in Chillicothe were the toughest of the whole trip.

GOBA is a great ride, but it is big - up to 3000 people. I have ridden it 11 times and they were all fun.

The organization that puts on GOBA also does a smaller ride in late July called XOBA - The Across Ohio Bicycle Adventure - which runs at 150-250 riders. Slightly higher mileage and fewer lines if the big ride sounds too big for your tastes. www.Ride-XOBA.org

I have ridden it about 5 or 6 times. Capped at 3000 persons. They have extended the registration to today. It is well organized and a good family ride. They do have a lights out time so there isn't all night partying. The ride changes routes yearly and have a northwest (flat) route every other year. Daily milage this year is about 50-55 miles with an optional century on one of the two layover days.
