Will there be a Dairyland Dare in '15?
The DLD website is gone, no responses to posts on the DLD Facebook page. Has me wondering if this ride will still be run in 2015. The other 2 rides from the Triple Crown Challenge ceased operation last year (Arcadia Brute, Kickapoo Kicker). I want to get my ride calendar put together by years end, this was always my last big ride event..

Not sure, same response you got on Facebook. I'm from Mineral Point, so I'll ask my sister to check it out.
Good chance, with Land's' End in critical mode this time of year, that all the volunteers are too busy to address it until after the holiday "return" season.
They also had pushback last year from the county "we know everything because we are appointed officials" because of a non DLD incident involving cyclists. It appears there were almost no guidelines, rules, regulations in existence for these types of events, and folks were organizing "unorganized" events, with a fatality in one and cyclists inhibiting and harassing police.
The county responded with draconian measures, like requiring mail notification of every single address along every single route, etc.
A town hall meeting was 80/20 for the DLD, but of course, the "we know everything because we are appointed officials" tended to discount that.
Still, the DLD went off, albeith with less participation because of the cancellation of the Kicker and Brute (which kicks it up about 250-350 riders at each event).
My guess is 50/50 chance. They spent a lot more last year, per rider, than made sense.
The silence indicates either they are very busy with their paying jobs, or looking for sponsors to replace Lands' End.

Thanks for your insight. This is my favorite ride each year, but I am planning to ride the area whether DLD or just on my own.
