I made it Hamtramck barely on time. Awesome weather with a huge crowd, I'm guessing over 2000 riders. Not sure I like the DPD testing the 1/4 mile performance of their Hemi powered patrol cars while "escorting" us riders.

No shortage of vintage electro forged single speed Schwinns, old MTB's that need some love, and shiny new bikes. I was the outlier, riding a drop bar classic green 1970's Super Course MK II.

Amazing to see riders have difficulty with the small bridge incline over the railroad tracks and even more amazing to hear them complain after the ride about it too.

The pièce de rèsistance - right after the end of the ride, a dude on a Schwinn single speed makes a sharp turn at crawl speed, falls down and his tall Coors Light come rolling out of the bag and opened up. The beer may not have been his first one, thus the tumble. Unhurt fortunately and didn't cry over his spilled beer.

Hopcat Monday 5/25 - turned out to be a lovely evening. One of the volunteers figured 3000+ riders. Nice ride through some of the improving neighborhoods like Boston Edision.

They like to exaggerate how many people ride,,its ok I understand I have been on several of those rides, never saw 3000 people. Anyway I will ride the Critical mass Friday, they ride, the count makes no difference.

I went in 2014 in August, and had been wanting to go for a little while.

May go again this year, though I'm not entirely sure I want to hassle with registering for a free membership and then apparently picking up my membership card to go on one single ride.

I agree the count makes no difference, but why is your estimate better? The sponsors have some who actually register via their smart phones and probably several times that amount that don't.
