Lansing, MI area

Looking for folks to ride with (esp. other girls) -- and if you're a State student, that's a huuuge plus. (Trying to increase numbers of collegiate cyclists...) Road, track, anyone?

If you're ever in the detroit area and feel like doing some group rides, the wolverine sports club rides are lots of fun- http://www.lmb.org/wsc/html/rides.html

I live in Lansing and I would like some people to ride with as well. I'm just going back to school, but not state. PM me if you want to ride sometime. I wanted to ride today but I'm feeling a little under the weather. Hopefully, it'll clear up in a day or so.

Try this site http://www.michbicycling.info/ridesched/ridelist.html they have group rides starting from MSU Livestock Pavilion and other spots around the area.

I live in Lansing by Washington Park. I'll try a ride with anybody, almost any day. Or night. Long rides are good, slowly. Road, trail and anything in between are all good. I lost some skin on a gravel road (Drumheller) by Bath this summer. One example of a ride I like is the area south of campus, out toward Holt and Mason. Especially in tomato/corn season! Pancake stops are another plus. I also ride a lot in the city--every day in fact. But I'll try about anywhere! I just got a new bike but it's another MTB so I still like it slow and rough (Sorry Tina turner!) I'm still waiting for another ride with chipko if his poor clavicle ever heals.

I'll probably see you all around town. Of course I won't know who you are! (Except Andrew)

Another Lansing-area resident, here. Try the Tri-County Bicycle Association website, too. They have daily group rides most of the year. I don't get out for rides much since the new baby boy (number three) came along! Someday, soon.

I wonder if there's enough interest for a Bikeforums ride in Lansing? Preferably with a pancake stop....

Sophia's Pancake House in Grand Ledge has great cakes, crepes, blintzes, waffles, skillets, omelets. I've never had anything I didn't want more of or have enough of.

Just thought I'd bring this thread back to the top.

I'm going to be getting a new bike in a few weeks, and I'd be down for trying to set up some kind of group ride in Lansing.

I live on the north side of town, just north of Oakland near Sexton High school, and would be up for meeting/going just about anywhere...in the spring once the cold is gone that is!!

I'm in. I need to rack up some miles before the DALMAC. I'm over on the west side in Grand Ledge, but I can bring the bike to the east side, if I must!

Count me in. I live in Lansing Northside. I just started riding last year and only road 1 mile to and from work over the winter. I need to start doing some miles so I can do some day trips this summer.
But not today though, the wind keeps tipping me over and the snow is cold.

Good suggestion. Portland has a very nice trail. I've ridden it several times with my family. I'm not sure it's suited for a rigorous training ride (not that any of us are into that sort of thing!), but it would work well for a casual ride. And, it does have an ice cream stand. So, you know ... we could ... maybe stop ... to get some ... water ... to fill our empty water bottles ... yeah.

I have a TCBA map book at home. I'll take a look tonight and get back tomorrow with some more suggestions. Anybody else?
