Forgot about Spin Doctor. Have been in before and they seemed nice and did carry the Specialized road bikes. Seemed knowledgable too, just a little far for me with Mission Bay just down the street. They seem to have a very active riding club/group, along with their own club forum.

Hey, Kenal, I use to live in Rogers Park and bike up to LF on Sheridan Road, then went to Lake Forest College and biked back home on Sheridan Road. SUPER bike road. Now I'm in Ann Arbor, MI.

??...if you're bike is a mtn. bike maybe . I was not impressed with it during the North Shore Century this last year. The one thing I got out of it was that my wheels are strong and my frame does smooth out the bumps.

I live in Euclid, Oh, an eastern suburb of Cleveland. Commute to work when above freezing about 8.5 mi. each way. I like to ride the hills south and east of town, also the wine country about 1 hr. east; there are several covered bridges, as well as the wineries/restaurants in that area [Ashtabulah County]

I'll be up in June for a week staying in Egg Harbor, and your right that is the best riding area I been to yet. Except the main highways with all the tourists.

Checking from the western burbs of Chicago I live in Westchester and work in Naperville. I ride with the Spokes group in Wheaton off and on throughout summer.

Looking to do more this year...if anyone any the area wants a training partner or can point me in the right direction please drop me a PM! Thinking a 70.3...maybe?

Cheers,
Shad

Heck yeah I do....have one myself. They are sold either online at the Purdue Cycling Club site, or retail through Hodson's Bay on the Levee. It is a club so they really aren't fast on turn around time, but it's defintely worth it....and the money goes to a great group of riders.

EDIT: When I have more time tonight I can post the link.

THANK YOU! I want to order one but it only comes in Small & Medium?!? My 6' 3" 220lb arse wouldn't fit in that....fat guy in a little bike jersey!

I graduated in 01 too...5 year plan. Krannert/Econ and Food Science dual major.

Lafayette is the center of the universe...Happy Valley is pretty but no Purdue baby! I used to live in Philly and drove thru there back and forth from Purdue a few times.

Notice that Kimbercop got a weapon. Is pepperspray not good enough to ride around Happy Valley? I know it's the middle of nowhere, but that seems like overkill to me.

(ducks and covers, hiding behind an MVC degree... )

I ride County B between Egg and Sturgeon all the time, some roads north of Egg and like to loop over to Jacksonport and Bailey's Harbor and down to Institute. B is wonderful because it hugs the coastline, and Door County Century, D.C. Triathlon both use part of that route. Even in tourist season it's pretty quiet, the last few months, you can hear a pin drop out there. E-mail me and we'll go for a ride.

Shad - LHCG is a pretty good bunch that could be helpful for your training, and it's not too far away.
