Hello; I haven't been on here in a while, but I'm in Bowling Green, OH, about 24 miles south of Toledo.

I'm finishing up my first year at BGSU and have recently gotten more into cycling. I'm fixing up my dad's old DX-2000 that he bought when he was in college many years ago. We have a pretty nice bike shop in town (Cycle Werks). I'm interested in touring and would like to get to know others in my area.

Cool. Thanks!

In Grand Rapids. Using cycling as a primary part of my recovery. I had hardware removed from my leg last week (think Kevin Ware) and I'm itching to get on the road. I'm currently riding a tadpole trike (Terra) on a trainer.

I live in Akron, OH (Highland Square) near the Cuyahoga River Valley. Lots of hills and great scenery, if you know which way to go.

Hi all,
I live on Chequamegon Bay (Washburn, WI) of Lake Superior. Mostly ride solo in 25 to 50 mile jaunts. In a couple of weeks will take my first long (220 mile) journey to the Twin Cities to visit the grandkids. Plan to do a little stealth camping along the way. The only way home is to do it in reverse. Anyone else from around these parts?

No, but I love the south shore of Superior and visit often. I actually had tried to sell my SO on retiring to the Port Wing - Cornucopia area.. it's so nicely off the beaten track

Do you have your route laid out? Lots of choices.

I spend a fair amount of time in the area. I'm from "close by" Duluth. Though I mostly travel.

Ann Arbor, MI. Trying to work myself up to being a regular commuter both in terms of equipment and physically given it's 29 miles RT.

Hi! I have been lurking on BF for awhile and finally decided to register. This is a fantastic resource for all things bike and I love it here! My name is Geoff and I live in Joliet, IL which is located about 40-50 miles south west of Chicago. I primarily ride the local rail trails and commute to work occasionally (roughly 15 miles RT) on my 2011 Trek Earl.

Hello! I just joined. I'm in Chicago. I mainly commute to work and try to ride on the nice trails in the Chicagoland area on the weekends. I would love to do more touring but am pretty new to it. :)

Chicago, NW side, I live a couple of blocks from the North Branch trail.

Northeast Ohio, just north of Youngstown.

Mostly a singletracker, but I take the mtb out on the rail trail whenever the dirt is too wet (which seems to be all of this summer).

Hello. Nice forum. I live in Bayfield, Wisconsin right next to Lake Superior. I bike to school and to the bike shop I work at from home. One way it is 5.3 miles.

I didn't check this when you posted, but welcome! I do as well. I live by the Ardmore/Austin/Milwaukee intersection and grew up on the NW side my whole life. I ride the NBT up to the lagoons and back, sometimes up the Skokie Valley Trail, quite often. Been meaning to get my butt out of bed earlier to ride in the mornings but been too lazy sadly.....but if you're down for an early ride let me know!

Richmond, IL, here. Very far northwest suburbs -- walking distance from the Wisconsin border. I ride roads and trails year-round with a local bike club of retirees throughout northeast Illinois/southeast Wisconsin.

smontanaro 12-07-13 08:28 AM

Evanston, IL. Commute frequently to my job in the Loop. Also head north toward the WI border...

La Crosse, WI. I moved here about seven months ago. I bike to work and around town, and I'm having a blast riding in the snow. I'm looking forward to exploring some of the local road routes once the snow melts.

You have a lot to look forward to.

The Driftless is a great area for riding with many miles of paved low traffic rural roads, nice climbs and excellent scenery.
