Welcome Mike.

I work in St. Charles and frequently ride to and from work or after work south on the trail to Aurora. We'll have to hook up some day.

Welcome Mike. There's quite a few of us in your neck of the woods. Check out posts/threads for BFNIC. We can help you with that century...we could even have you doing one in May...:D

Hey Psimet2001 did you get your January century in yet????

Psimet2001 01-20-07 11:41 PM

Nope. Medical issue is keeping me off the saddle. Don't ask. You don't want to know.

What kind of rides are you looking for?

I think there is a fairly significant presence over in the single speed / fixed gear forum that are from Bucktown/Wicker Park.

There are roadies down in the city, but also a lot out here in the suburbs.

Psimet2001 01-23-07 08:37 AM

Also check out xXx racing team/club. In the area I think.

Scheelsbiking 01-28-07 08:20 PM

From the Appleton/Green Bay, WI area...

Thanks for the link...it seems like forever ago and it was nice to run back through the pictures.

IUScott - I live in Elgin near the Big Timber station, kimbercop is around the corner, CyLowe97 is slightly West of Randal, and iab is out of the Crystal Lake/Algonquin/Lake in the Hills area. We are all close enough that we occasionally go out for quick rides after work during the week...sometimes up the Fox River trail.

Check out some of the routes I have on Routeslip.com. PM me for a link to my user.

another in kane county

i'm in sugar grove. i ride the country roads around hinkley, big rock, kaneville, etc. i also ride the gilman trail to the fox river trail. i usually ride the fox river trail between north aurora and oswego. i'd like to start hitting the prairie path but just getting to it and back is about as far as i can ride on my hybrid. when i upgrade this year, i'll hit the ipp more often.

i also ride on the country roads around chestnut mountain by galena. big difference over the flat roads of illinois farm country.

Kimbercop 02-03-07 09:26 AM

Atom:

I worked in SG for 7 years, lot of traffic on those quiet little two lane roads out there...Gilman trail is pretty heavily used too.

Be safe

Welcome atom.

+1
Nice rides out there. Were you mostly between Hanover and Galena or did you get out east of Galena too?
