Ah,yes. Flint. Home of my Alma Mater (GMI/Kettering). I was just thinking about Flint this morning as I wondered if my running injury (going on 6 months now) will be healed in time for me to run the Crim this year. I'd hate to break my streak.

Hi Everyone

New here. I am from Manistee Michigan on the beautiful, well sometimes, west coast of Michigan. I am a VERY new rider. I bought my bike 3 years ago and until June probable only logged 10 miles. I am now up to 35 miles trying to train for a charity bike ride happening in Wisconsin from New London to Sturgeon Bay. I enjoy the back roads of the area but am scared to ride some as I have been "buzzed" more than once.

Welcome to bikeforums!

You might want to go to your LBS (local bike shop) and see what group rides they have. They should have rides for all levels. Riding with a local group might show you some good safe routes to follow that you might not know of.

Plus we got the best roads in the country.

I'm in Hoffman Estates, NW suburb of Chicago. Most recently, I ride a few of the forest preserve paths around here, the Illinois Prairie Path, local streets, and the Fox River path strictly for fun. I've also been known to seek out single track paths when I can (Deer Grove, Busse Woods, and a few others areas).

Hi pvllbum. If you ever get over towards Frankfort or Matteson you might want to check out one of these Folks On Spokes club rides:

Hi everyone. New to the road bike scene here. I live in Shorewood (south of Plainfield and west of Joliet). I do about 10 miles 3 times a week around the area... mostly the Plainfield area or the backroads southwest of of Rt. 52 and River. As soon as I know I can get to that 15-18 mile mark, hopefully I can hook up with the rest of the riders. Looking forward to it.

is there single track in busse? i've only skated on the paved path, might bring the bike there this weekend though (have to drive). I ride up to deer grove and do one loop around the paved loop as part of my usual 13 mile route. once my endurance has improved i'll try the gravel and single track up there.

Busse has a few that I'd found off the multi-use path. I can't remember all of them, but there's a great one off the south branch of the path.

There's a nice hill there at the center of the map. I'm sure a google search will turn up a description of the other trails there.

Indy here... just began riding in the past month. Attending group rides form a local bike store and getting hammered in the sprints. I'm trying to get better for next year when I'm going to step in the realm of racing. I run too... so that takes up alot of my time, but I do get to get out for about 4 rides a week.

North Aurora, IL - 40 miles straight west of Chicago - my daily loop takes me from home to north of St Charles (on both sides of the river) and back south to the south side of Downtown Aurora, and back home. MUP all the way, except for the one mile from my house. It's a 30 mile loop.

Columbus, Ohio. I'm in the process of riding every inch of the paved trails in and around the city. Lots of fun.

Welcome. We have most likely crossed paths. I commute down the fox river trail from Elgin to North Aurora for work (I get off on Oak near Harner's and shower at the Cardinal Fitness there at Oak and Randall - work on Airport).

Say hi if you see me.

hah i've probably seen you too. I live in aurora right next to fermilab. The batavia spur is literally less than a mile from my doorstep. I've probably seen you as I like to ride up to 64 (north ave) on the east side of the river... mainly on saturday mornings/afternoons.

I'll wave if I ever see you.

Hey there,

New here, from Chicago IL. I've just started getting into cycling again, after an almost ten year layoff. I have been back on the bike for two months now and am loving it, commuting 3-4 days a week and going on longer rides over the weekend. It is great to be back.
