Blue Water Ramble, Anyone?

Anyone going on the Blue Water Ramble this Sunday (10/1)?

This is a great ride with a choice of 40/60/80/100 mile routes along the St. Clair River (flows from Lake Huron to Lake St. Clair, divides Michigan from Ontario). The route uses both sides of the river and features two ferry rides, with a great lunch stop along the river on the Canadian side. The weather is looking pretty good from here (where good means dry!), but I doubt that it can beat last year's perfect conditions.

If you're going, don't forget your passport or other I.D.! Clearing immigration coming back into the States is getting to be more of a hassle all the time, and they might not give you a break this time.

I would, but customs would throw a fit if they saw my various self defense items. I do know several people who are going though.

I don't know why anyone would want to bike along the St. Clair river. I've been along the river on two tours in the last couple of years and I can't help but be overcome by a complete sense of disgust when travelling on the river north of Sarnac and Marine City. The horrible chemical plants and power plants spoil what could be a nice ride.

I just got back from the ride. Beautiful, almost perfect weather; great route; good food; friendly riders. You were not missed.

I'm glad my absence didn't ruin it for you. Hope you didn't choke on the toxic fumes.
