Waterford, WI trail - Closed? (pics)
I like this trail, it's a quiet, back route into Burlington, WI. I park at Saller Woods,
it's right next to the Fox River and there's hiking trails here too. It's on 36, just south
of the river:

But today looks like a challenge - can I get through?
Uhhhhh ... no.
So I reluctantly turn around and head north to River Rd.
It's been closed all year ...
... but looks good now!
I'm liking this ..
Oh no ... not again.
This way?
This looks better ...

... then we take the next left onto a relatively new subdivision.
It's not even on the map from Google, but it's a nice route.
Uh, yeah - that's KPH not MPH! This loop is about a mile
leading us back to Plank Rd. (where the bridge was out)
We head south and start to climb ...
... up to Ketterhagen Rd.
Turn right, and climb a little more.
and cross what I think will be the new HWY 83.
Ketterhagen is a fun road.
Then right on Browns Lake road back towards 36.

We cross the Fox River again and just before HWY 36 is the bike path.
Hmmmm ... how far can I get??
About a half mile ... ugh!
Oh well, I take the wide shoulder on 36, about a mile,
right back to the car.
I could have continued on Browns Lake RD and then ridden through the
trails at Saller Woods, they're pretty good. But I'll save that for next time.
It was a nice, easy sunday evening ride and some good road reconaissance
to boot. - jw

I was getting impatiend towards the end of your pics. I was afraid we would not see your bike. Bike pics are manadtory. Looks like not much fall colors out , yet. Looks like you were doing a little downhill. 25 mph on your odometer. Can't make out your total distance ridden.
Seeing bike tour pictures of far away places, I really appreciate. Thats what I like. Getting on the bike and touring far away places. You have a camera mounted on your helmet, it would appear. ?

Well, with road names like River Rd, there isn't much altitude change, plus the Glaciers 10,000 years ago took care of flattening most of the 10,000 ft mountains around. Note I did confess that was "KPH" Camera: just your run of the mill dig. camera hung around my neck, usually on my back then brought around for the pics.

Sorry. I missed that KPH. Why, in Wisconsin.? Here, I fool my people with MPH.
