21 miles and my first time off the road. a mix of pavement, gravel, a little dirt/grass, and tiny bit of mud (Deer Grove forest preserve, east section). when i got back on the pavement it was much easier

10/10 - tried out my new roof rack to drive my mtb to my daughters school. Then left the car and rode a combination of the Des Plaines river trail and streets to work in Mt. Prospect and back. First time I've ridden that trail and it was pretty fun. Probably the farthest I've ever gone on my mtb, especially on dirt. No computer on the mtb, but it was a sub 20 mile day. But a tougher 20 than on my Roadie.
Hope to ride the North branch tomorrow morning

Quick 13 mile MUP run to test out the new frame-up build of my just-acquired 2003 Giant TCR frame. Very, very nice. Have a little saddle tweaking to do, but very responsive and predictable. I like.

Yes. Finally. ~11 miles this afternoon.
I've lost my riding spirit in the last few weeks. I know I should be enjoying this last blast of warm weather, but it's just not happening.
Someone slap me back to reality.

10/11 - 10.5 at Beverly Lake. That place needs a lot of work before it's ready for prime time.
We polished it off with a nice BBQ and stupid human/bike tricks.

10/11 38 miles with the local bike shop group.
pretty hard effort yesterday cosidering i am a bit under the weather. i was off the front with two others around mile 20. we were chasing down a rabbit, but when we caught him the other two popped. the dude was a strong rider and we cruised the rest of the way in. i think i might be getting a rep with this group as "that guy." later.

10/11- 0 miles -went 120mph in 4 seconds. Though it was on the top thrill dragster and not my bike
10/12- 62 miles -woke up too late to go mtn biking at reagan. I ended up riding through the metroparks (SUPER busy!) through downtown(super rough roads) and turning around by burke lakefront airport and back.

Weekend of riding....just not what was planned.
Saturday - Cross clinic in Woodstock followed by 20 miles of repeats in Bull Valley and topped off with about 10 miles on my fixed gear after dark.
Sunday - practicing cross dismounts and remounts in the morning....followed by 20+ miles with colorchange at a "recovery pace" followed by going out to the cross race in Hawthorn Woods and proceeding to kick myself in the butt for not racing it.
Next up...week in Vegas baby...hopefully I will get enough time running to not go total fatty.
