Leinad and I did a brutal 50 miler today. 25 of those miles directly into a 15-20 mph head wind and the rest with a side wind and finally some tail wind. And the below pic is for nocondorfx......

To make it worse, I was on the trainer for 15 minutes before I said 'f it'. Too early to be riding that hamster wheel. I guess there's nothing wrong with a few off days.

28-ish miles with MJH2, a teammate and colnajoe. Windy and cold. Good ride.

10/26...Leinad decided to enjoy the warm 50 degree temps and mild 40mph winds today. We did not get in to many miles before the rain let loose. We hauled butt home and I packed up the truck and drove home.....just as the clouds dissipated and the sun came out

By the time I got out today, the rain had just stopped, and I got in about 60 miles. It's weird now; I used to avoid climbing like **** and practice my sprint all the time, and now I can't help but climb, and I avoid sprinting.

Bartlett Cyclocross race. Wind was insane. Cold front came through. Crazy. Fun. Did well. Better than expected. Don't know for sure but I am guessing between 10-20th place out of about 40-50.

Did my first Cross race on Sunday. Don't know the miles but I was in zone 5 for 40 minutes! Man that is hard stuff! A team mate told me after the race that he could hear me breathing when I was on his wheel. Did the C race and took 6th out of about 25. Maybe next time I'll be able to borrow someone's cross bike and not ride the MTB with full suspension. My size is 56, anyone interested in making a deal or have a rent-a-bike?

A little over 20 miles today in the cold rain. For a mile of the ride, I got caught in a HARD hail storm.

I loved every second of the ride. These "miserable" conditions are quickly becoming my favorite, the only thing that could have made the ride better would have been mud.

Oh yeah, I also gave my bike a minor overhaul before riding, so everything felt nice.

I just came back from 8 miles in the cold. Aside from the need for neoprene booties, I'm set for a lot more winter riding.

Last night's rain forced the frist trainer ride of the season. 1.25 hous hrs. of structured riding. Oh well, it's seasonal and to be expected. I would have done a recovery ride anyway. So it's back to the grind of doing spinups, single leg drills, lactate tempo intervals, watching cadence and HR, and added to this off season menu, core work, squats and power cleans. I also fixed my wife's elipitical trainer that was creaking and cracking with every step she did while I was on the trainer.

39F, 25-35mph winds: I did 20 miles. I cranked hard in the 53x11 (yes, I've got my 11-25 back!) with the tailwind, and then pushed the 53x14 into the wind for 10 miles.
A very productive ride.

And no gloves, shoe covers or leg/knee warmers.

10/28- 32 miles. Even with my lights on there were a lot of close calls with drivers. They must think we stop riding when the sun and 70 degree days go away.

Anyway, Go Cavs!

Snuck out of work a bit early to get in a decent 25 miler. That's one mean looking sky hanging over NE Ohio these days.

I got in another 15 minutes of the trainer. I had the track bike in a 49x13 gear with my base/aero bars on. I just focused on holding cadence and keeping a perfect pedalstroke. Marilyn Manson in the pitch black was kind of freaky though.

And Scott, one of my theories for slow reactions from drivers is that since it's cold out they put the heat on which slows reaction. Ride safe y'all.

Been doing a bit of commuting lately, despite the less than stellar weather. 9 miles today into a pretty stiff headwind had me wondering why I didn't go with a geared bike instead of my SS.
