Commuted on my pig of a Bianchi. It's like riding my Cervelo with an anchor dragging behind. But in its own weird way it's kinda fun

    04/23, 15 miles.

Rock Run Greenway, loop through the Rock Run business park, and back home.
Beautiful evening, 60ish with a 15 mph ESE breeze. Wish I had more time.
Almost T-boned a deer on the path behind JJC.

    4/23 - 19.4 miles
Did the "Ride the Rock" loop in the afternoon. Kgrills, you are right about the deer that hang around just north of JJC. I had a deer cross in front of me the day before yesterday on the RRGT roughly 1/2 mile west of Essington as I rode thru the S curves before coming to the lake towards Black Rd.

    4/24 - 14.2 miles
Rode down to McDonalds on Houbolt, then rode around the business park then took the RRGT back to Black Rd. and rode around the preserve behind my street where i live.

Might want to give everyone a heads up if anyone is riding on the RRGT near the Black Rd. library during the early p.m. hours (1 p.m. Sat. and 2 p.m. Sun.) this weekend as there is a little Civil War reenactment taking place. Hopefully the weather holds since it's supposed to storm this weekend at times.

Today ME and the Misses went on our favorite ride. See, the forecast was going to be stellar so we both took today off and headed for Amish Country. The Amish community is located in various parts of Ohio but our fav is in the central part of the state around Wooster and south. We did 56 miles of country beauty, yes hilly, but that is what makes this so nice. Our favorite resturant is Rebecca's Bistro in Walnut Creek and they served us breakfast even though it was past time for it, the owner just get's the biggest kick out of the fact we ride so far just to eat at her place.

We tried some new roads today. one 606 turned out to be stone and dirt, won't do that one again and the others where a series of roads south of rt 39 (this is the main tourist road here) WOW the climbs on that beast, loved every minute of them! The scenery in this part of Onio is the best, period and to see all the Amish in their daily chores is a special part of this ride. The kids are the best, saw a group of young girls playing softball in dresses, needed a camera for that.

Great day indeed hope you all got a chance to enjoy it where you live!!

48 miles with a friend. Not hilly at all, but some irritating crosswinds did show up. It was a glorious day, 80 degrees and sunny.

You guys do the coolest rides, Dan.

I got 37 miles, the first half was southwest right into w/a 20 mph headwind w/30 mph gusts and I loved every single minute it was awesome to be out there today. Feeling adventurous I tried a new route, which worked out very well.

Coleen, you have to go on this ride sometime it is the best, didn't say easy, just best! Funny thing about climbing is you don't pay much attention to the wind, though I do remeber pedaling downhill a few times.

BTW, you doing the wheelmen ride sat.? Me and Gary are doing the Lake erie wheelers century ride!

    First Spring Ride

While putting air in the tires I remembered that last fall a new stem riser and wireless computer were added to the Vent Noir.

Puters are fun - 40 mph top speed and 28 miles.

Stem risers look odd, but it made the ride way more comfy.

All the excitement of the first season returned!

It was wonderful riding out this evening in just shorts and a short-sleeved jersey.

A nice little 16 mile ride down to Sleepy Hollow to remind my legs and lungs what sharp steep hills feel like before tomorrow morning's BFNIC Spring Classic (and Vintage) ride.

    04/24, 9 miles.

Just a quick ride to the Mother-in-law's for dinner.
(Joliet to Channahon, via the Rock Run Greenway).

Had a stiff wind out of the south for the entire ride, maybe averaged 10 mph.

(Edit: well I fell better now that I checked, 12.9 mph)

But I knew there was a 12 pack of Corona's waiting for me.
Alas, the brother's in-law were there before me, not a one left!

Only 29 miles today, Set out to do 100mi. Temp started out at 65 degrees and 20 miles in it started pouring rain. Ended up getting picked up, was 44 degrees by the time we were done. I'm still shivering...
