45 miles tonight in the Westlake Criterium. I wasted myself chasing down The Champ in the first few laps and I got caught in no-man's land, where I stopped gaining on him, and the field stopped gaining on me. I was the only one with the gumption to chase him down, and I guess for good reason.
I fought the rest of the race. One rider would never pull through, and after skipping 4-5 pulls, he broke away. I put myself deep into the pain cave to pull him back just out of gall. He complained, and I told him exactly what was up. I said that the rider does not decide to breakaway; the field decides.

I got blocked by a fat guy in the sprint, but I did reasonably well. I found out when I got home that my rear brake was rubbing.
You referring to me? I hope not.

I marked two guys from RGF in the sprint and went around the 2nd rider with about 150yds to go, when his sprint pooped out, then got passed by many at the line. The RGF guys made their jump while we were still on the turn.

I can't believe the Valley City race is cancelled. That was my A race in 55yr+ State Chammpionship this year. I've trained, planned and focused my season on that race. It's too bad the people who put the race on didn't put out a call for help in order to save the race. I've heard from two Snakebite members that they recieved an email last week stating the race was off, no warning or call for assistance.

I'm doubtful that the race was cancelled for the reason they gave.

The fat guy was on Torelli. He wasn't really squirrelly, but he just was so damn slow and kept on lumbering in front of me. If you can't sprint, and you can't hold a line, then don't contest the sprint. We're there to train on our field sprints and I'm trying to impress another team so this matters to me.

60 miles tonight, 35 with Spin in the rain. The new 130mm stem feels really good.

At one point, that guy I always try to avoid was directly in front of me in a paceline. I was riding pretty close. I all of a sudden see him bunnyhop, and before I can do anything I'm in a pothole.

My bars slid down a centimeter in the stem, and I shout an expletive in an insinuating manner. Luckily nothing was broke, but a mile later I found that the hole opened up my rear quick release skewer. After that, I rode slowly to check out my bike, then turned around since I didn't want to f up my bike anymore with that group.

I love ya Mitch...I really do.....but let me get this straight.....
Your in a pace line right up on the wheel of a guy you don't trust. You obviously did not tighten your stem enough because it slipped and apparently your QR was loose as well............How in the world is it the groups fault?

All stems will slip if you crash into a pothole. I'm not 100% sure about the QR, because I always put those on tight and I just changed wheels. I'll admit that reding behind Felt Guy was my fault.

But somethign bad always happens on those rides.

25 miles from Bartlett High School with the Thursday night maniacs. I think I dropped one of my legs on Powis Rd. so if you go by and see one with a bright yellow sock with a white Shimano RT 80 attached to it, let me know. KTHXBYE!

Also if you see some dude out on a black Trek 1.2 dressed like a tennis ball, that's me. Say Hi

I take it personally when someone publicly slams the ride that my shop puts on. This isn't the first time you have had problems on the Spin ride and blamed the group for what happened to you. I am sorry you feel like Felt dude left you hanging in the pot hole like that but hell, we have all been in a paceline and saw a hole or a rock at the last minute and could not motion to the guy behind us because we needed both hands on the bar. Don't blame a group over your misfortune.

Extended my commute to 25 miles today by hitting the bike path for a bit and taking a detour later on. Very nice....

Think I might follow it back on the way home to make a nice even 50 for the day....

On todays ride I happened to see a cyclist taking a rest so I figured I would stop and say hi. Turns out this guy Paul is riding his Windsor from Boston to Washington. I give him much kudos for living his dream. Wish I had done the same thing when I was young

Night before last he had slept in Pittsburgh. Today he had come from the Akron area where he camped last night on his way to Sandusky where he plans to sleep tonight. When I saw him he was on.......I think it is Rt6 which is the main road just off the lake that runs from Cleveland to Sandusky and beyond...

25 hard miles in 25+ MPH winds with rolling hills. No matter which direction I rode, never once did I get a tailwind. Stupid thunderstorms!
