A couple of laps at the 1st Allegheny Jet Crosstravaganza. I felt miserable from sneezing 100+ times during the day. (killer allergies) But had a blast. Pretty cool course. thanks bill!

Seemed like we went from a very late spring to late fall today. Sure there will be some more summer weather yet but not seen for this week. Rode 36 miles total today. Started in Oswego and rode home.

Hey I wouldn't call that being a wuss...

And yeah this weather just stinks, I am just getting into this distance stuff & riding again, and now it turns dark and cold, Guess I gotta learn about cool weather clothing for rideing now

You're welcome. Since no one fell into the lake while hurdling the barriers I'll make the course more challenging next time by adding the "Fire Pit of Death".

what a friggen absolutely gorgeous day outside today.......40 miles this morning. Started off with the arm warmers but sheded them mid ride as I rode east along the lake into a pretty stiff headwind. I could deal with this weather all year long!!

8/31 Day off; but here is the end of month damage report.

1091 miles for the month, 7140 miles YTD, rode 21/31 days for an average of 52 miles/ride.

need 2860 to get to 10000 that's 715 a month for rest of year, I think it's doable, sept and Oct are usually good but the evenings are getting shorter...BOOOOO!

Possibly the Saturday after Labor Day. My brother from CO will be visiting and he may also wish to partake as his cycling roots are in MTB'ing. The first cross race is the following weekend so that would be a good day to train. I'll attempt to work it out over the next few days.

Dan,

You and your lovely are simultaneously inspiring and humiliating.

As for me, 546 for the month, 1965 for the year, 21/31 days, 26 miles/ride.
Average MPH has increased by 2 MPH since I recovered from my knee problem in May.

We went back down to 55 hrs/week now, hopefully I'll squeeze more miles in.

Slowly but surely...

Edit:

Oh, and 15 miles on my usual after work route. Felt like I had a really good ride,
really put my heart into it. Turns out I was faster on Sundays 64 mile ride.
Go figger.

Cheers.

kdgrills, Thanks, but before anyone gets too down on themselves, keep in mind that we have grown children (no more need to run them everywhere) and if you figure in a modest 3 1/2 minutes a mile (17.5mph ave speed) that is 25000 minutes or 416 hours or based on 8 hrs a day that's 52 days spent on a bike. In other words; it's all we do!!!!!

9/1 49 miles on the tues nighter, tried to do a solo break, didn't work!! Man that is so hard to do, your mind plays all kinds of tricks on ya when your out in the wind alone. It finally talked me into bailing and waiting for the group. I did win the finish sprint though.

32 miles with the Medina Club Ride. Our group had at least 15 strong riders with most all taking turns at the front. It was a great day to ride today.

With us ditching Giant, I was thinking of EP'ing a Ridley frameset from QBP. Those are awesome.

I'll probably end up with another Cannondale.

Wednesday night Spin ride. Last of the season. 50 riders showed up and we all had a great time. I rode the "B" group and we ended up with 32 miles at 22.9mph. Not our fastest ride ever but it did have it's moments. We all enjoyed hamburgers and dogs as well as a few cold beers after the ride at the shop. It was a very nice evening.

Spent this and last evening shredding myself on
the hills in the Western Springs / Burr Ridge area.

15 miles / 16.6 mph average on both rides. I think I do better
on the hills cuz there's constantly a challenge up ahead.

Daylight sure is getting scarce quickly now.
